Dr. Chiranjibi Shah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). He received his B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Pokhara University, Nepal, in 2012, and completed his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Mississippi State University in May 2022.
From May 2022 to August 2025, he worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Northern Gulf Institute at Mississippi State University. During this time, his research focused on computer vision, developing advanced machine learning and deep learning techniques for object detection and classification in fish imagery.
His broader research interests include hyperspectral image analysis, dimensionality reduction, big data analytics, healthcare data, natural language processing, and robotics.
